“The Nature of space is directional. The nature of time is circulatory. Without space there is no time. When you place yourself at the center of these polarities you can experience the moment.” - Nevine Michaan

Marco

Marco Migliavacca was born in Milan in 1976. He studied Fine Arts at the Brera Academy and began his professional journey in the world of communication.

He first encountered yoga in 2000, but it was only in 2005—after moving to Barcelona—that this meeting evolved into a deep, passionate daily dialogue. It became more intimate and grounded, marking the beginning of a long and transformative path.

In 2009, after completing his first teacher training in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, he returned to Milan and began sharing the practice and its benefits.

In 2012, he opened the first of two [hohm] street yoga studios—spaces that soon became a reference point for the study and practice of yoga in Milan. Over the next ten years, the studios hosted international teachers and offered a wide range of trainings and workshops.

Throughout the years, Marco traveled to Spain, Germany, England, India, and the United States, studying with many respected teachers such as John and Lucy Scott, Sharon Gannon and David Life, David C. Kyle, Leslie Kaminoff, Dharma Mittra, Bo Forbes, Angela Farmer, Rod Stryker, and David Regelin.

Two key figures in his path have been Biff Mithoefer, with whom he deepened his study of Yin Yoga and Taoist philosophy, and Prema Mayi, who introduced him to the path of Bhakti Yoga.

His first encounter with Katonah Yoga® was through Abbie Galvin whose teaching opened the door to this method. That experience led him to Nevine Michaan, founder of Katonah Yoga®, who became his teacher, mentor, and friend. Under Nevine’s guidance, Marco explored the deeper layers of this syncretic practice that blends Hatha Yoga, Chinese Medicine, sacred geometry, and esoteric dialogue.

In 2021, he became a certified Katonah Yoga® teacher and began teaching in the online mentorship offered by the Katonah Yoga® Center in New York.

Between 2020 and 2021, Marco collaborated with Dérive on a series of projects combining music and yoga for Nike. In 2021, he also designed and led a yoga experience at the Terraforma Festival, in collaboration with musician Caterina Barbieri.

Since 2021, he has been collaborating with Yoga Academy, an online platform where he regularly offers classes and content. This partnership also brought him to teach at Kalemana Festival, an international event that brings together music, yoga, and sport.

Marco currently teaches Katonah Yoga®, Yin Yoga, and Taoism through group classes, one-on-one sessions, workshops, and trainings, both online and in person.
